Bin Lorry Blaze Doused by Quick-Thinking Firefighters in Freshwater
Freshwater and Newport fire crews raced back from the scene after tackling a fiery bin lorry in Freshwater. The flames broke out in the rear section of the truck, sparking a rapid response.
High-Tech Gear in Action
Firefighters donned breathing apparatus and deployed a Cobra ultra high pressure lance to smash the initial blaze. Once the lorry was emptied, they switched to hose reel jets to fully extinguish the fire and cool everything down.
Damage Kept to a Minimum
Thanks to their swift action, the firefighters saved the vehicle from serious damage. Only slight fire damage was reported at the rear loading area, leaving the rest of the bin lorry intact.
