Man Killed After Falling and Being Hit by Lorry on A249

Kent Police rushed to the A249 southbound near Key Street at 11:59pm on Tuesday, June 28, after a man reportedly fell onto the busy carriageway and was struck by a lorry.

Emergency Services Called to Scene

South East Coast Ambulance and Kent Fire and Rescue also attended, but sadly the man was pronounced dead at the scene. A coroner’s report is being prepared.

Police Appeal for Witnesses and Dashcam Footage

  • Officers want to hear from anyone driving on the A249 near Sittingbourne or around the Key Street roundabout at the time.
  • Drivers with dashcam footage are urged to review it and share any relevant clips to aid the investigation.
