Downside Substation Fault Hits Bridgemary Area

Forty homes in Gosport were plunged into darkness last night after a cable fault at the Downside substation in the Bridgemary district. Residents lost power just after 10pm, leaving many without light or heating amid strong winds battering the area.

Engineers Rush to Restore Power

A spokesperson for Scottish and Southern Electricity confirmed the fault and said an engineer has been dispatched to fix the issue. “We expect to restore power by 1am,” they added.
