Serious Crash Shuts A249 Northbound Between M2 and A2
A nasty collision involving two cars and a motorcycle has shut the A249 northbound between the M2 and A2 in Kent. The smash happened around 3.30pm on Saturday and has caused chaos for motorists heading that way.
Kent Sussex and Surrey Air Ambulance were scrambled to the scene of what has been described as a life-changing crash. Emergency services, including Kent Police, are currently on site investigating.
Road Closure and Traffic Update
All traffic trapped inside the closure zone has now been released. However, the road remains closed while collision investigation work continues. Highways England warns the closure could last for several hours.
Motorists should expect delays and allow extra time for their journeys.

- Leave the A249 at Stockbury Roundabout, taking the northbound Maidstone Road exit towards Sittingbourne.
- Stay on this road until Key Street Roundabout, then exit onto northbound Sheppey Way.
- At Bobbing Roundabout, rejoin the northbound A249 to continue your journey.
