Fatal Crash Shuts M2 Westbound Towards London
A deadly single-vehicle crash has forced the closure of the M2 westbound between Junctions 6 and 5 in Kent.
Crash Scene and Investigations Underway
Kent Police and emergency teams were called to the scene just before 1am on Monday. Specialist collision investigators are combing the wreckage, supported by Highways England traffic officers.
The smash also ripped through a large stretch of the motorway barriers, adding to the chaos.
Long Road Closure to Hit Morning Rush
The westbound carriageway is expected to remain shut for several hours, potentially snarling early commuters. Authorities have put a diversion in place to ease traffic jams.
Follow Diversions to Avoid Delays
Drivers are urged to follow the solid square diversion signs. Exit at Junction 6, then take the A251 southbound to the A252 in Challock. At the roundabout, head west on the A252 towards Charing, then pick up the A20 westbound to Maidstone and the M20 Junction 8.
Continue on the M20 to Junction 7, exit, and take the A249 northbound to rejoin the M2 at Junction 5.
Allow extra travel time and stay tuned for updates.
