Police Hunt Man After Creepy Gesture Toward 11-Year-Old Girl in Newport
Police are urgently searching for witnesses after a suspicious incident in Newport, Wales, where a man made unsettling gestures towards an 11-year-old girl on West Street.
The Shocking Incident
The creepy episode unfolded between 8:15am and 8:35am on Wednesday, 24 September. A man standing by a van made disturbing gestures at the young girl. Thankfully, she was unharmed. The police are piecing together exactly what happened.

“We take all reports like this very seriously,” said Inspector Kerry Myles of the District Policing Team. “Officers from the Neighbourhood Policing Team will be patrolling the area and engaging with local schools. We have not received any other similar reports in this area.”
“If you have any information or concerns, please speak to our officers. Parents might also want to use this as an opportunity to talk to their children about personal safety.”
The police are keen to speak to a man seen nearby at the time. He is described as:
- Black, in his 30s
- Medium build with short black hair
- Wearing a dark red polo shirt and navy-blue trousers
