Lincolnshire Police launched a huge operation employing drones, foot patrols, and vehicles. Tracks near the riverbank led officers to the fatal scene north of East Ferry. On January 17, the Audi TT was pulled from the water, confirming the worst.
A police spokesperson said:
“We are saddened to report that in the search for missing Penny, she has been found deceased. Our thoughts are with her family during this incredibly difficult time.”
