105-Year-Old Dies After Horror Crash in Uckfield

A 105-year-old man has tragically died after being hit by a car while crossing the road in a mobility scooter in Uckfield, Sussex Police confirmed.

Accident Details

The crash happened at 1.44pm on Saturday, April 5, on Bell Farm Road (B2102), just east of the Brookside junction. The elderly man was struck by a blue Ford KA.

Emergency teams rushed to the scene, but sadly the man from Uckfield was pronounced dead there. His family have been informed and are receiving support from specially trained officers.

Driver Uninjured, Road Closed

The driver, an 87-year-old woman from Ringmer, was unhurt in the crash. Bell Farm Road faced a temporary closure as emergency crews and collision investigators worked.

Police Urge Witnesses to Speak Up

Sussex Police are appealing for anyone who saw the crash or has dash cam footage to come forward.
