HGV Crash on A20 Sparks Major Rescue Operation
A nasty three-vehicle smash involving an HGV on the busy A20 Ashford Road near the Faversham Road junction has left multiple casualties this afternoon in Kent. Air ambulance doctors scrambled to the scene to treat those injured.
Massive Emergency Response
Shortly after 3pm on Monday, five ambulances and four fire engines from Kent Fire and Rescue Service rushed to the chaos. The Kent, Sussex and Surrey ambulance service also joined the desperate rescue efforts.
Dramatic Rescue as Road Remains Closed
One woman had to be cut free using extrication gear from a vehicle carrying two babies and two other women. Kent Police have shut the A20 in both directions and launched a full investigation.
Officials are urging drivers to avoid the area and find alternative routes as the clean-up continues. Kent Fire and Rescue along with Kent Police are expected to release more details soon.
