HGV Crash on A20 Sparks Major Emergency Response

A nasty three-vehicle pile-up involving a heavy goods vehicle ripped through the busy A20 Ashford Road near Faversham Road this afternoon. Multiple casualties needed urgent treatment from air ambulance doctors.

Massive Rescue Effort Underway

Five ambulances and four fire engines from kent.fire-uk.org/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Kent Fire and Rescue Service, plus teams from Kent, Sussex, and Surrey ambulance services, swarmed the scene shortly after 3pm.

Woman and Babies Trapped, Road Closed

Emergency crews had to use special extrication gear to free a woman trapped inside one of the wrecked vehicles. That car also carried two very young babies and two other women.

Kent Police shut the A20 both ways and launched a full investigation into the smash. Drivers are urged to find alternative routes to avoid delays.

Kent Fire and Rescue and Kent Police are yet to release further details.
