The pilot of a light aircraft that crashed near Heathfield, East Sussex, on Tuesday morning has tragically died, police have confirmed.

Emergency Crews Rush to the Scene

Emergency teams were scrambled at 11:05am following reports of the crash on Herrings Lane, Heathfield.

Firefighters from Heathfield, Uckfield, and Battle battled the blaze using special 1 in 7 foam to extinguish the fire.

Ambulance and Police Attend Crash Site

Both Sussex Police and the South East Coast Ambulance Service arrived promptly to manage the situation and assist where possible.
