Tragic Crash on A417: 72-Year-Old Woman Killed
At 12:13pm yesterday, a devastating collision involving an HGV, a silver Mercedes, and a red Mercury rocked the A417 at the B4508 junction.
Woman Dies at Scene
The crash claimed the life of a 72-year-old woman from Baulking, who died instantly at the scene. Formal ID is pending, but her next of kin have been informed and are receiving support from police.
Police Appeal for Witnesses
Sergeant Phil Hanham of the Serious Collision Investigation Unit said: “Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the woman who has died. I want to offer my sincere condolences on behalf of the force.”
He added: “The collision happened just after midday on a busy stretch of the A417. We’re urging anyone who saw what happened or has dashcam footage to contact the police. Call 101 or report online quoting reference 43210326007.”
Other Injured and Road Closure
- Two others suffered less serious injuries.
- One was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
