Thieves Snatch Woman’s Handbag with Late Son’s Ashes in Seaford
Two bike-riding crooks have snatched a woman’s handbag in a shocking theft near Seaford beach huts. The bag held something priceless — a ring containing the ashes of her late son.
Heartbreaking Mugging at Night
The victim, a woman in her 30s, was walking alone near Connaught Road around 10:15pm on Saturday, June 22. Suddenly, two men on bicycles came up from behind and ripped the handbag from her shoulder. She was hurt in the struggle as the thieves sped off towards Newhaven.
Police Hunt Young Suspects on the Run
- The suspects are described as two white males, about 18 years old.
- They wore dark hoodies and tracksuits during the attack.
- They escaped eastbound on bicycles.
Police have launched an urgent appeal to the public for help identifying the offenders. Anyone with information or footage is urged to call 101 or report online, quoting serial 1425 of 22/06.
“The handbag contained a ring with the ashes of her late son — a loss no one should ever suffer,” police said.
