Warning as Aldi Sun Cream Fails, Girl Left Badly Burnt
Aldi’s factor 50 sun cream is under fire after a six-year-old girl suffered nasty sunburn despite being slathered in the product. The youngster spent a day at the beach in Lee-on-the-Solent, Hampshire, only to end up with serious burns that shocked her family.
High-Factor Cream Didn’t Stop Burns
The mother, from Gosport, had carefully applied Aldi’s SPF 50 sunscreen to both her children last week. “I thought maybe I hadn’t put enough on,” she said. But even after reapplying the cream three times the next day, her daughter’s sunburn worsened dramatically.
Warning to Parents Everywhere
From her home in Gosport, the mum shared a photo of her daughter’s raw skin to warn other families. “I’ve never had this happen before,” she said. “I’ll be writing to Aldi and filing a complaint about this.”
Aldi Responds, Promises Investigation
An Aldi spokesperson said: “We are sorry to hear about Ms Dexter-Hall’s experience. Our SPF 50 sun cream has undergone rigorous testing, earning a Boots 5-star UVA rating which surpasses comparable branded products.”
“We’ve asked Ms Dexter-Hall to return the product to her nearest store so we can investigate and offer a full refund.”
