Kite Surf Horror Off Hayling Island Sparks Massive Rescue!
Emergency services were scrambled after two kite surfers collided over the waters near Hayling Island this Sunday afternoon.
Chaos on the Waves
The portsmouth/" title="Portsmouth" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">Portsmouth RNLI lifeboat jumped into action just after 1.30pm when the distress call came through. Both surfers were injured but managed to haul themselves from the water before paramedics arrived.
Full-Scale Rescue Effort
The UK Coastguard Operations Centre coordinated the intense multi-agency response. Teams included coastguards from Portsmouth and Hayling Island, the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance, rescue helicopter Rescue 175, the RNLI lifeboat, and paramedics from South Central Ambulance Service.
Hospitalised but Alive
Both victims were rushed to Queen Alexandra Hospital in Portsmouth for treatment. Their current conditions have not been disclosed.
