Firefighters Launch Daring Rescue

The Hampshire Fire and Rescue Urban Search and Rescue team sprang into action on Saturday afternoon after a worker injured himself atop scaffolding at a Cosham building site. Based in Eastleigh, the team was flagged down just after 3pm, quickly joined by fire crews from Cosham and Fareham.

High-Tech Pulley System Saves the Day

Crews rigged up a pulley rope system to reach and safely lower the stranded worker. Meanwhile, a Hart team from South Central Ambulance Service arrived on scene to stabilise the man before the risky rescue began.

Plucked from Peril and Rushed to Hospital

The injured worker was carefully moved in a basket stretcher from scaffold heights to solid ground. He was then rushed to Queen Alexandra Hospital in portsmouth/" title="Portsmouth" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">Portsmouth for treatment.
