Community Champions and Ukrainian Families Unite for Coronation Lunch at Downing Street

Today, Downing Street hosts a star-studded Coronation lunch, bringing together community heroes, Ukrainian families, and youth groups. The Prime Minister and Mrs Murty are rolling out the red carpet for this special celebration.

British Flavours Take Centre Stage

  • Guests will feast on a spread showcasing the UK’s finest produce.
  • Highlights include Loch Duart salmon from Scotland’s Sutherland, soda farl from Northern Ireland, Gloucestershire beef, and ice cream from Welsh company Chilly Cow in Ruthin.

Honouring Heroes & Supporting Families

Among the guests is Community 123, the charity behind ‘Saying Goodbye’ which supports thousands who have lost children during pregnancy or infancy. Survivor and campaigner Laura has tirelessly fought for 15 years to improve the lives of 35,000 women in the UK battling secondary breast cancer.

Ukrainians and Sponsors Join the Celebration

Ukrainian refugees escaping Russia’s war and their UK hosts are also on the guest list. Olga Breslavska, welcomed through the Homes for Ukraine scheme, is currently studying intensive English. Sponsor Caroline Quill has matched 250 families in East Sussex and Kent and will also join the festivities.

Youth Groups Take Their Place

Young people from UK Youth and the National Association of Boys and Girls Clubs have been invited to mark the historic day alongside the community heroes and families.
