Man dies after collision with a coach

A man has died despite the best efforts of medics following a road traffic collision this afternoon involving a coach and a pedestrian. West Midlands Ambulance Service was called to the A500 in Stoke on Trent, shortly before 12.25pm and sent an ambulance, a paramedic area support officer and two BASICS doctors to the scene. A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: “Crews arrived to discover a pedestrian in cardiac arrest following the collision. “Advanced life support, including CPR, was carried out on the man and continued on the way to Royal Stoke University Hospital. “Unfortunately, shortly after arrival at the hospital it became evident nothing could be done to save the man and he was confirmed deceased. “No-one else was injured in the incident.”
