Man Seriously injured after being attacked by a mob in Cowplain
Police are appealing for witnesses following an assault which left a man with a serious head injury in Cowplain. Between 12.30am and 1.10am on Saturday, November 19, the 49-year-old victim had an encounter with a group of men outside The Spotted Cow pub on London Road. He then walked off down the street before being assaulted near to the junction with King’s Road by a man who was part of a group. One of the men was described as wearing a long brown jacket, and all were described as men aged in their 20s. As a result of the incident, the victim was taken to Queen Alexandra Hospital for treatment to a serious head injury. Officers would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the incident, including prior to the assault taking place.
