London man charged with drug offences in Canterbury

A 23-year-old London man has appeared in court charged with Class A drug offences in Canterbury. Amir Maroufkel, of Old Kent Road, London, was arrested in Plumstead High Street on Thursday 17 January 2019 by officers from Kent Police. He was charged with two offences: conspiracy to supply heroin and conspiracy to supply crack cocaine in the Canterbury area between Tuesday 23 October 2018 and Wednesday 14 November 2018. Maroufkel appeared at Canterbury Magistrates’ Court on Saturday 19 January 2019 and was remanded in custody to appear at Canterbury Crown Court on Friday 15 February 2019. The arrest was made as part of an ongoing initiative known as Operation Raptor, which is designed to tackle, disrupt and prevent violent crime and the possession of offensive weapons, as well as the supply of class A drugs.
