Armed police raid house near Isle of Wight prison Estate
Armed officers from Hampshire Police have surrounded a property on the outskirts of Newport this morning (Monday). Emergency services swarmed the property on Rooke Street, near to the Isle of Wight prison estate just after 8.20am. The normally peace estate was put in lockdown in the preplanned operation after a known wanted man was known to in hiding within the property. Armed response officers were called in to support Isle of Wight colleagues from the mainland. Hampshire police have been approached for comment
