War Memorial Statue Vandalised in Romsey Park

Shock as the beloved Romsey War Horse Memorial Sculpture is damaged. The iconic statue in War Memorial Park was vandalised sometime between 6pm on Friday, January 31, and 4pm on Sunday, February 2.

Damage to Reins and Paintwork

Thieves or vandals targeted the statue’s reins and paintwork, leaving the memorial defaced. Sergeant Richard Taylor condemned the act, saying, “We are treating this as criminal damage and we want to find out what happened.”

Police Urge Witnesses to Speak Up

If you were in War Memorial Park during the time and spotted anything suspicious, police need your help. Sergeant Taylor added, “If you saw what happened, or noticed anything odd, please call us.”
