Brutal Assault: Woman Threatened with Knife in Terrifying 40-Minute Ordeal
A 22-year-old savage punched a woman in the face before grabbing a kitchen knife and threatening to rape and stab her every time she made a noise. The terrified victim managed to escape and raise the alarm.
£500 TV Smashed and Door Smashed During Attack
When police returned with the woman to her home, they found a £500 television smashed to pieces and a hole punched through the bathroom door. The attacker, Metcalfe, who has no fixed address, was arrested and charged with making threats to kill, common assault, and criminal damage.
Metcalfe Jailed for Two Years and Handed Restraining Order
At Teesside Crown Court, Metcalfe admitted all offences. He was jailed for two years and slapped with a three-year restraining order, ensuring he stays away from the victim.
“This was a terrifying ordeal for the woman, who not only feared for her life but for the life of her unborn child,” said Detective Heidi Weir of Durham Constabulary.
“She showed great bravery by escaping, raising the alarm, and supporting the police investigation. Metcalfe is a very dangerous and controlling individual. His conviction and jail time will hopefully give her some peace of mind.”
