The cause of death of a Devon paedophile has been unable to be established because his body was so severely decomposed by the time he was found passed away in his home.
Police had made a house call to Colin Drew, 45, of Cullompton, on January 11, 2021, because he was a monitored offender.
When they were unable to get a response, they looked through his letterbox and the ‘smell’ that greeted them caused them to force entry due to concerns for his welfare.
He was found having passed away on the floor ‘several weeks ago.
A post mortem examination concluded the cause of his death was unascertained due to the severe decomposition of his body.
It was noted there was no obvious trauma that could have caused his death.
The pervert, who was born in Tiverton, had a history of violence against police, drug offences, sex offences, caught trying to contact underage girls over the internet and possession of indecent images.
