Kyle Pugh subjected an 18-year-old girl to four brutal years of coercive control, physical violence, and sexual assault. The 19-year-old dominated her every move, from what she wore to forbidding makeup. He pulled her hair, bit her, and hurled baseless accusations of cheating at her in violent rages.
Shocking Abuse Revealed
- He hit her with a vacuum pole and a games controller.

Fear and Control
Pugh’s abuse wasn’t just physical. He controlled her phone and social media, scrutinising every move. He threatened her life, warning, “You think you’ll come out of this alive?” The victim lived in terror, too scared to ask for help.
Justice Served at Birmingham Crown Court
After finally breaking free and reporting the nightmare in December 2021, Pugh was sentenced to 13 years in prison on 8 July. Convicted of three counts of rape, sexual assault, coercive control, making threats to kill, two counts of actual bodily harm, and harassment, he faces a massive sentence for his cruelty.
“Pugh’s cruelty and controlling behaviour is inexcusable,” said Detective Constable Laura Rogers of the Child Abuse Investigation Team. “He isolated the girl from family and friends and made her doubt her own mind. When he raped her, she said no clearly, but he persisted. There are no excuses for rape. We’re proud of this victim’s bravery in coming forward and helping bring him to justice. He’s got the punishment he deserves.”
