Undercover Tail Leads to Big Score
Minutes later, a plain-clothed officer spotted two of the car’s occupants nearby. Following them into a shop at St Peter’s Retail Park, suspicions grew that the suspects were hiding drugs on their person.
The officer detained the two men along with a third man who had been in the car during the stop.

PC Dean Fenton of Nottinghamshire Police’s knife crime team said: “This was a great result for our team and really showcased the value of using a mixture of plain clothed and uniformed officers out on patrol.”
“We first identified the vehicle from intelligence, then covertly followed suspects to firm up our suspicions. As a result, we uncovered a large quantity of heroin and stopped it from reaching the community.”
“While our team targets potential knife carriers, we regularly follow up leads on drug offences too, so we’re pleased to have scored a positive result here.”
