Tragedy at Barons Court Station: Person Dies on Tracks
A person has died after being found on the tracks at Barons Court Station this afternoon, January 6. Emergency services rushed to the scene at 2.10pm at the busy District and Piccadilly Line station.
Despite efforts from paramedics, the individual was pronounced dead at the scene. The British Transport Police (BTP) confirmed the incident is not suspicious and a file will be handed to the coroner.
Severe Delays Hit Tube Network
Transport for London (TfL) reports heavy disruptions on the Circle and District lines. There is currently no service between Earl’s Court and Richmond or Ealing Broadway as emergency teams manage the situation.
Passengers are advised to use alternative routes. Tickets are being accepted on London Overground, South Western Railways, the DLR, C2C, and London buses.
Official Statement from British Transport Police
“Officers were called to Barons Court following reports of a casualty on the tracks. Paramedics also attended; however, sadly a person was pronounced dead at the scene. The incident is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner.”
Commuters are urged to plan ahead as delays continue throughout the afternoon.
