Tragedy struck Heanor on the afternoon of Saturday, 18 June 2022, when ambulance crews rushed to Thorpes Road near the local park after young Mikey Harrison was found with serious injuries. Sadly, he died later that same day.
Father Charged with Murder
Mikey’s father, Michael Harrison, was hit with a murder charge in July 2022. Initially, he admitted manslaughter but denied murdering his son.
Guilty Plea at Derby Crown Court
The 41-year-old from Eaton Terrace, Nottingham, appeared at Derby Crown Court and suddenly admitted to murdering Mikey.
Sentencing Date Pending
Michael Harrison is set to be sentenced at a later date as the court prepares to deliver justice for Mikey’s tragic death.
