North Wales Headteacher Neil Foden Faces Child Sex Abuse Charges
Shock rocked North Wales as 66-year-old headteacher Neil Foden was arrested and charged with serious child sex offences. Foden faces multiple allegations, including sexual activity with girls aged between 13 and 17, sexual communication with a child, and abusing his position of trust.
Prominent Education Figure Suspended Amid Scandal
Foden was not just any headteacher. He held a top role as Executive Member for Wales at the National Education Union (NEU). After the charges came to light, Cyngor Gwynedd council immediately suspended him from all duties.
Court Proceedings Underway in Llandudno
Foden appeared before magistrates in Llandudno, where he was remanded in custody awaiting further legal action. North Wales Police have launched an investigation and urged anyone with information to step forward and assist.
Council and NEU Respond
A Cyngor Gwynedd spokesperson said,
“A member of staff at a Gwynedd school has been arrested and charged by North Wales Police and has appeared before the court. Following school employment procedures, the individual is suspended pending investigations. All child protection protocols are in place. The Council will make no further comment at this time.”
The NEU confirmed Foden is no longer a member and declined to comment further.
Next Court Date Set
Neil Foden is due to appear at Caernarfon Crown Court on 9 October as the case continues to unfold.
