Fatal Crash Shocks Chigwell
Detectives are hunting for witnesses after a deadly hit-and-run on Manford Way, Chigwell. The incident happened just after 5pm on Friday, 22 December, when a white Seat Leon collided with a pedestrian walking two dogs.
Woman and Beloved Dogs Lose Lives
Emergency crews, including London’s Air Ambulance, rushed to the scene, but 48-year-old Marie Theobald from Hainault was tragically pronounced dead there and then. Sadly, her two dogs, Riley and Honey, also died in the crash.

Driver Arrested After Fleeing Scene
The driver failed to stop after the crash, but police found the car nearby shortly after. A man has since been arrested and is in police custody, as enquiries continue.
