Woman Assaulted in Chatham – Police Seek Witnesses
A woman was followed and attacked early on Thursday, 9 April 2024, in Chatham. At around 5am, she was walking along luton/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Luton Road towards Luton Arches when an unknown man approached and assaulted her. The attacker fled after she shouted for help.
Suspect Spotted Again Near New Road
The victim continued to New Road and reportedly saw the same man again near the junction with Otway Terrace during the incident. Police launched an investigation immediately.
Man Remanded Ahead of Maidstone Crown Court Hearing
On Thursday, 2 May, a man appeared at Magistrates’ Court connected to the assault. He has been remanded to appear at Maidstone Crown Court on Friday, 31 May.

Detectives are appealing for anyone who witnessed the attacks on Luton Road or New Road to get in touch. Residents, businesses, and drivers with CCTV or dashcam footage are urged to review their recordings for relevant evidence.
