Fern Britton Set for This Morning Comeback After 15 Years?
Fern Britton could be heading back to This Morning after a 15-year break. The 66-year-old TV favourite revealed she’s in talks with ITV producers following a recent guest spot on the show.
Casual Chat Sparks Return Rumours
Fern told Women & Home magazine: “When my interview finished and I left the studio, I was approached by a production team who said, ‘Would you like to do some little films with us?'” She added that the idea of filming short four-minute segments, especially from her home in Cornwall, sounds “perfect.”
Joyful Reunions and Fond Memories
Returning to the This Morning set proved emotional for Fern. She said, “So many of the team I worked with are still there and it was a real trip down memory lane. It was lovely to be close to people who meant a lot to me.” Fern reflected on leaving the show, admitting she hadn’t planned on going when she resigned, leaving behind “a lot of good stuff and a lot of good friends.”
Looking Ahead: Fern Wants Political Interviews
Fern also revealed her dream role: interview-based TV, particularly in politics. She explained, “I’m not interested in party politics but politicians – where the minds of those characters we vote for are at.” Fern wants to dig into serious issues like Europe’s troubles post-Brexit and demand honesty from those in power.
Backing New Hosts: Cat Deeley and Ben Shephard
Fern threw her support behind new This Morning hosts. “Cat Deeley and Ben Shephard very much get my vote. Cat has been gaining experience in America but to viewers, she’s fresh – mature, experienced and very nice. Ben is simply 100% lovely,” she said.
Fans are buzzing to see if Fern Britton will make a surprise return to the daytime favourite she once called home.
