Teen Brothers Charged After Machete Attack on Off-Duty Cop in Luton

Two teen brothers have been arrested and charged with attempted murder after a savage machete attack on an off-duty Metropolitan Police officer in Luton town centre.

Brutal Assault Outside Busy Shopping Centre

The shocking attack happened at 1:10pm on Saturday, November 2, right outside The Point shopping centre on George Street. Emergency services rushed to the scene, cordoning off the area near Luton town hall as shoppers looked on in horror.

Hannan and Humar Mahmood Face Multiple Charges

Hannan Mahmood, 19, and Humar Mahmood, 18, both from Belmont Road in Luton, were caught on Friday. They now face five charges: attempted murder, wounding with intent, possession of a bladed article in public, robbery, and dangerous driving. The brothers appeared at Luton Magistrates’ Court over the weekend and were remanded in custody.
