Detectives have launched an urgent appeal to trace three men in connection with the murder of 20-year-old Jason Romeo, who was fatally stabbed in Hackney earlier this week.

Jason was attacked outside an address on Bodney Street, E5, at 5:59 PM on Tuesday, February 18, and sadly pronounced dead at the scene despite efforts from paramedics.

Following intensive investigations, police have now identified three men they urgently wish to speak to:

All three men are known to frequent the areas of Hackney, Walthamstow, and Deptford.

Public Urged to Assist Investigation

Detective Superintendent Kelly Allen, who is leading the investigation, issued a direct plea to the public:

“Our team is working tirelessly to identify those responsible for Jason’s tragic death. We now need the public’s help to trace Asante, Bailey-Edwards, and Mitchell. I would urge anyone with information about their whereabouts to contact us immediately by calling 999.”

Detective Superintendent Allen also thanked the Hackney community for their continued support during the investigation:

“We understand how deeply this incident has affected the local community. Officers have been carrying out increased weapons searches, reassurance patrols, and will conduct house-to-house enquiries over the weekend. We know this can be disruptive, but these steps are crucial in bringing those responsible to justice, and we appreciate your patience.”

Police have warned the public not to approach Asante, Bailey-Edwards, or Mitchell if seen. Instead, anyone who spots them should immediately call 999 and quote reference 5635/18Feb.
