Two people are in custody after shots rang out in Newham this afternoon, leaving one man injured and triggering a major emergency response.

Around 2:42pm on Tuesday, April 29, police responded to reports of gunfire on Upton Lane, E7. The London Ambulance Service treated a man at the scene for a gunshot wound before rushing him to hospital. Thankfully, his injury is not life-threatening.
Two others received treatment for head injuries but are not in serious condition.

The Metropolitan Police’s North East Command swiftly arrested two individuals connected to the shooting. One of the suspects remains in hospital with minor injuries.
