The Repair Shop’s Jay Blades Charged with Two Counts of Rape
TV Star Jay Blades Faces Serious Charges
Jay Blades, the beloved presenter of BBC’s The Repair Shop, has been charged with two counts of rape. West Mercia Police confirmed the shocking news today.
A spokesperson said:
“Jason Blades, 55, of Claverley in Shropshire, has been charged with two counts of rape. He is due to appear at Telford Magistrates’ Court on 13 August 2025.”
Separate Case for Coercive Control
The new rape charges are separate from an ongoing case where Blades faces accusations of coercive and controlling behaviour against his estranged wife, Lisa-Marie Zbozen. He pleaded not guilty to those charges in Worcester Crown Court in October 2024. A pre-trial review is set for 6 August 2025.
Jay Blades Denies All Allegations
The popular craftsman and TV star has strongly denied the allegations. No public statement has been made regarding the latest rape charges, which add to his mounting legal troubles.
Police Stay Tight-Lipped
West Mercia Police remain tight-lipped about the case. A spokesperson said:
“As legal proceedings are active, it would be inappropriate to comment further at this stage.”
The date for the coercive control trial has yet to be confirmed as Blades awaits court dates for both cases.
