Stratford Westfield Car Park Fire: 15 Vehicles Alight, Centre Evacuated – UKNIP

Ten fire engines and around 70 firefighters tackled a blaze in a multi-storey car park/”>park at england/scotland/”>scotland/westfield-scotland/”>westfield/”>Westfield Shopping Centre on Montfichet Road this afternoon. The fire, which broke out on the second floor of Car Park C, set around 15 vehicles alight.

London Fire Brigade (LFB) said crews brought the fire under control by 5.54pm, but firefighters remain on scene damping down. There are no reports of injuries.

  • Response: 10 fire engines, ~70 firefighters from Stratford, Poplar, Leytonstone and surrounding stations
  • Specialist kit: 32-metre turntable ladder deployed to assist firefighting
  • Status: Fire under control at 17:54; damping down continues

Public advice and disruption

The incident produced a significant amount of smoke. LFB advises people to avoid the area while operations continue. The shopping centre was evacuated as a precaution and access to parts of the car park remains restricted.
