Priceless Bronze Statues Stolen in Brazen Wiltshire Heist
Wiltshire Police are hunting for three priceless bronze statues stolen in a daring midnight raid at Iford Manor near Bradford-on-Avon. The theft happened between June 19 and 20, leaving art lovers shocked.
The stolen masterpieces include:
- She-Wolf with Romulus and Remus – vanished along with its bronze base
- Pair of symmetrical fawns – replica sculptures inspired by Villa Dei Papyri
- Bust of Antinous
Detectives have been on the case since the break-in, but the valuable artworks remain missing.
Two Bristol Men Arrested But Statues Still Missing
Police swooped on two men from Bristol, aged 31 and 39, in late June. Both have been released on bail while investigations continue. However, the stolen bronzes are still nowhere to be found.
Police Plea: Help Find the Priceless Bronze Treasures
“This investigation remains a priority for our team, and we’re desperate to hear from anyone who has seen these items,” said DC Jo Chesshire from the Burglary team. “We believe the statues are still intact – likely hidden somewhere in the UK or possibly moved abroad.” “If you have any information, please contact us immediately.”
