Man Wreaks Havoc on Cars with Baton in Stoke Newington
Police swooped at 2.10pm on Monday, 9 January after reports of a man smashing cars with a baton on Trumans Road, near Stoke Newington Road, N16.
Suspect Detained – Mysterious Item Turns Out to Be Harmless
Officers quickly detained the man, who was spotted carrying a suspicious-looking object. After assessment, the item was cleared as non-threatening.
Mental Health Detention and Precautionary Road Closures
The man was taken under the Mental Health Act and transported to an east London hospital for treatment.
As a safety measure, several road closures were put in place while the incident was handled. Authorities have confirmed this is not being treated as a terrorist attack.
