Crash Closes A3 – The A3 southbound in Hampshire is completely shut between the A333 Hindhead and B2131 Liphook after a serious single vehicle collision hit the road at around 10:20 this morning.
Police On Scene – Hampshire Police are leading the incident response. Given the severity, the closure could last several hours as emergency crews deal with the aftermath.
Traffic Chaos Expected – To ease congestion, police plan to release traffic slowly from the back of the queues caught in the closure. Meanwhile, lane two of the southbound Hindhead Tunnel remains closed.
Follow the Diversion
Motorists are urged to follow the solid triangle diversion signs on local routes. Here’s the step-by-step detour to avoid the closure:
- Exit A3 southbound at Stag Hill Interchange (Hogs Back) and take the A31 towards Farnham.
- Drive about 7 miles to Shepherd and Flock roundabout.
- Take first exit onto A31 Farnham Bypass.
- Proceed to the B3001 junction and cross over to the A31/A325 roundabout.
- Take the first exit onto A325 and follow it all the way to Longmoor Interchange roundabout.
- At Longmoor, take the second exit to rejoin the A3 southbound.
Plan Ahead: If you use the A3, expect major delays. Consider re-routing or delaying your journey.
