Man Jailed After Terrifying Abuse Campaign Leaves Woman Hiding in Fridge
A ruthless man has been locked up after subjecting a woman to horrific violence and intimidation. The victim was left battered, bruised, and so scared for her life she hid inside a street-side fridge to escape.
Joshua Maguire’s Brutal Reign of Terror
In March, 29-year-old Joshua Maguire was sentenced for a chilling spree of abuse against a woman in her early 30s. On October 14, 2025, the terrified victim fled Maguire’s Crawley home as his abuse escalated during her visit. Fearing for her safety, she ran from the property and hid inside a discarded fridge on the street, desperately trying to phone a friend for help.
Rampage and Threats Follow Escape
The nightmare didn’t end there. The very next day, October 15, Maguire threatened to “trash” her flat. True to his word, he smashed up the property, flooding it and wrecking countless belongings. He sent the victim videos and photos of the destruction, alongside fresh threats of serious harm.
“The victim was left traumatised by the ordeal, having suffered both physical and emotional abuse.”
Justice Served – Police Warn Victims to Speak Out
Maguire was swiftly arrested, charged, and jailed for his violent offences. Police have stressed the grave nature of domestic abuse and urged all victims to seek help and report such behaviour immediately.
