A 36-year-old Crawley man, Robin Raison, was sentenced to over three years in prison after police discovered cocaine and £5,000 cash at a rented property in Crawley. Detailing the supply of Class A drugs, the arrest and conviction highlight law enforcement’s focus on tackling drug offences in West Sussex.

Arrest At Crawley Property

On 4 June 2024, police arrested Raison at a property he rented for one night in Crawley, suspecting possession with intent to supply Class A drugs. Officers seized quantities of cocaine and £5,000 in cash. The property owner was confirmed to have no links to Raison or the drugs.

Progression Through Courts

Raison was initially released on bail but was charged on 14 July 2025 with possession with intent to supply Class A drugs. He appeared at Crawley Magistrates’ Court on 20 August 2025 and was granted court bail. A subsequent arrest led to an additional charge of the same offence. At a March 2026 hearing, Raison pleaded guilty to both charges and was remanded in custody pending sentencing.

Lengthy Sentence And Forfeiture

On 29 April 2026, Lewes Crown Court sentenced Raison to three years and two months in prison. The court also ordered the forfeiture of £3,000 cash, drug paraphernalia, and a mobile phone associated with the offences.

Police Response

“I am pleased to see the sentence reflect the severity of Raison’s crimes,” said Detective Inspector Gary Jacobs. “The supply of illicit drugs has a significant negative impact on our communities. We will remain relentless in our pursuit to catch offenders, bring them to justice and protect the public from the harm of illegal drugs and the supply of those substances.”
