Drug Gang Busted: Four Jailed After Massive 10kg Cocaine Haul in Surrey
Four members of a ruthless organised drug ring have been locked up after police swooped on a major haul of cocaine worth millions. Surrey Police’s Serious Organised Crime Unit (SOCU) smashed the gang operating across Redhill, Horley, Reigate, Crawley, and London.
Proactive Police Sting Nets 10kg Cocaine
The takedown began in May 2024 when Christopher Brewer, 35, was caught loading a bin liner into his Audi in Redhill. A swift stop revealed 5kg of pure cocaine in his possession. The investigation snowballed from there.
Series of Arrests and Drugs Seized
- Maria Rivas Santos, 32, was caught hot in London by armed officers. Police found 5kg of cocaine hidden in a laundry bag in the boot of a hired BMW.
- Michael White, 54, a suspected courier, was caught with 250g of cocaine stashed in his underwear.
- Craig Brewer, 38, Christopher’s older brother, was arrested with cocaine wraps and £10,000 cash. Officers even found drugs being flushed down the toilet at his home.
Evidence also linked Christopher Brewer to a 15kg cocaine deal with a Liverpool crime group. All four pleaded guilty and were sentenced today at Guildford Crown Court (2 July).
Police Hit Hard: “We Took Them Out”
Detective Constable Matt Earl of SOCU said: “These criminals profited from misery, distributing illegal Class A drugs across the south-east. Our team’s hard work and coordination with regional forces caught them red-handed. Ten kilograms of cocaine is now off the streets – and these offenders are behind bars.”
Community Reassured After Intense Raids
Inspector Jon Vale, Borough Commander for Reigate and Banstead, told locals: “We know last year’s raids caused worry, but today’s result proves we’re hitting drug networks hard. Drug supply doesn’t just ruin lives through addiction; it fuels violence, theft and untimely deaths. Taking down these profiteers is our top priority.”
This crackdown delivers a major blow to drug trafficking in Surrey. Police vow to keep fighting organised crime and keep communities safe.
