A prolific shoplifter who committed 27 theft offences at retail premises across Kent has been handed a Criminal Behaviour Order banning him from major supermarkets and shopping centres across the county.
Daniel Rogers, 36, of Querns Road, Canterbury, was issued with the Criminal Behaviour Order (CBO) on 5 August following a Kent Police investigation into a prolonged series of thefts.
Between 28 August 2024 and 7 December 2025, Rogers committed 27 theft offences at shops across Kent.
On 12 July 2025, Rogers entered an Asda store and stole a Henry vacuum cleaner worth £159. He returned to the same store several weeks later and stole a number of food and drink items.
Rogers was sentenced for those offences in February 2026 and ordered to pay compensation.
As part of the proceedings, officers compiled evidence linking him to numerous other thefts and applied for a CBO designed to prevent further offending.
£300 clothing theft at Ashford Designer Outlet
Among the incidents included in the application was a theft at Ashford Designer Outlet on 4 July 2025.
Rogers distracted a member of staff by asking for assistance before running from the store with clothing worth approximately £300.
Just over a month later, on 14 August, he targeted a store at Bluewater shopping centre.
On that occasion, Rogers concealed bottles of shampoo worth a total of £115 on his person before leaving the shop without paying.
Banned from major retailers across Kent
Under the conditions of the Criminal Behaviour Order, Rogers is prohibited from entering Ashford Designer Outlet and Bluewater shopping centre.
He is also banned from entering any Tesco, Aldi, Asda, TK Maxx or Sainsbury’s store anywhere in Kent.
Breaching the CBO constitutes a criminal offence. Rogers can be arrested and returned to court if he fails to comply with the restrictions and could ultimately face imprisonment.
Police Constable Chris Green said: “Securing this Criminal Behaviour Order gives officers additional powers to protect businesses from further losses. We will take robust action and seek to bring him back before court at the earliest opportunity if he breaches these conditions.
“Rogers presents a real problem for retailers, their staff, and the wider community. He has repeatedly targeted businesses across Kent and has become verbally or physically abusive when challenged.”
