Firestorm Hits Margate: Nine Arson Attacks in One Night
Margate was rocked by a spree of deliberate fires late Saturday, 22 June 2019. Detectives are linking nine separate arson attacks that took place between 9pm and midnight.
Mattresses, Bins and Garages Torched
Over just three hours, arsonists set fire to rubbish, bins, mattresses, and even garages. Kent Fire and Rescue Service rushed to tackle the blazes, while police launched an urgent investigation.
One blaze damaged a gas pipe on Victoria Road, posing a serious risk to locals.
Police Hunting Ginger-Haired Suspect
Officers are combing through CCTV and want to hear from anyone with info. They’re especially keen to find a white male in his 20s, with short ginger hair, spotted wearing a khaki jacket.
