Magistrates have slapped a three-month partial closure order on a Portsmouth flat mired in drug dealing and anti-social chaos.
Residents’ Lives Ruined by Drug and Drunken Disorder
At a hearing on Tuesday 22 February, court was shown grim evidence of drug-related activity, intoxicated visitors, and persistent poor behaviour at the address. Locals say their lives have been turned upside down by the ongoing nuisance.
Partial Closure Order Enforced to Restore Peace
- Only the occupant is allowed inside for three months
- Visitors face criminal charges and arrest if they enter
- Full closure could follow if breaches occur
PC Aaron Sutton from Gosport East Neighbourhoods Policing Team warned, “Any breaches of the order will be treated as criminal and could result in those responsible being arrested and prosecuted.”
Police and Housing Provider Join Forces
The Guinness Partnership teamed up with police to win the order, showing zero tolerance for anti-social behaviour.
