Tragedy has rocked Nottinghamshire after 23-year-old Stephanie “Steph” Irons was discovered dead at her Mapperley home on Tuesday night. The sudden loss has launched a full murder investigation.

Steph’s family have paid a heartfelt tribute to the beloved daughter, sister, and friend known for her radiant smile and boundless kindness.

“Steph had an infectious smile and laugh which lit up any room she walked into. She was beautiful, caring, and had a huge heart worn on her sleeve.”

“She was well on the way to realising her ambition to become a clinical psychologist, having earned both a degree and a master’s. She was about to apply for her doctorate.”

“Our bright young star has had her future taken away and while we can’t comprehend what has happened, she will be forever with us.”

Murder Probe Launched – Two Arrested

Nottinghamshire Police moved swiftly after Steph was found dead at a Westdale Lane West address at 10.07pm on October 21.

  • A 40-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder on October 22 and remains in custody.
  • The following day, a 40-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender and is also being held.
