Woman Dies in Horrific Wimbledon House Fire

A tragic blaze ripped through a Wimbledon home last night, claiming the life of a woman.

Fire Ravages Rotherwood Close Property

The fire tore through the ground and first floors of an end-of-terrace house on Rotherwood Close. Half the roof was left damaged. Firefighters in breathing gear bravely rescued a woman from the first floor, but she was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

A female neighbour suffered smoke inhalation and was treated by paramedics. Around 14 residents from nearby homes were evacuated as a safety precaution.

Rapid Fire Response But Investigation Underway

The London Fire Brigade received the call at 10:58pm and brought the blaze under control by 12:23am. Crews from New Malden, Wimbledon, Mitcham, Tooting, and other stations battled the flames.

The cause of the devastating fire is now being investigated by the Fire Brigade and Metropolitan Police.
