Fire Crews Rush to Prison Cell Fire
Firefighters from across the Isle of Wight sprang into action after a fire broke out in a prison cell on Friday night. Engines from Newport, Cowes, and Ryde were dispatched to the Isle of Wight Prison estate just after 9.15pm.
Aerial Ladder Deployed to Tackle Flames
An aerial ladder platform was also sent to the Category B prison on Newport Road to help bring the blaze under control. The exact cause and extent of the fire remain unclear.
