Loose Dog Attacks Police Horse in Victoria Park Chaos
Drama unfolded in Tower Hamlets’ Victoria Park on Wednesday (March 22) as a loose dog launched a vicious attack on a police horse. Video footage shows a frantic man wielding a large stick, desperately trying to fend off the aggressive animal while mounted officers shout, “Get hold of the dog!”
Dog Bites Horse to Ground Amid Growing Crowd
The dog relentlessly bites the horse’s legs, causing the majestic steed to buckle and collapse. As the dog keeps lunging, onlookers gasp, with one crying, “This is so bad,” while officers watch helplessly. Tension escalates as a bystander demands, “Grab it now!” and another urgently asks, “Who’s dog is that?”
“Get that dog on a lead now!”
After several nerve-wracking minutes, a police officer dismounts to check the horse for injuries. The horse, named PH Urbane of Bow, required stitches but is expected to return to duty once fully recovered.
Police Urge Owners: Keep Dogs on Leads!
Officers released a statement: “PH Urbane of Bow was attacked in Victoria Park yesterday by a loose dog. We cannot emphasise enough the importance of keeping dogs on a lead if you cannot fully control or recall them.”
“Many thanks to the members of the public who attempted to assist Urbane,” the police added.
Dog Held in Police Kennels, No Arrests Yet
The attacking dog remains in police kennels, and officers are in contact with its owner. So far, no arrests have been made in connection with the incident.
